We supply the paper (A4), the pencils and the rubbers and sharpeners to go with them, for up to 20 of you. The price starts at £15 per person based on that group size, and your model also works as a Butler in the Buff. Swapping the 90 minutes for two hours costs £50 more.
Terraces, back rooms and daylight
South of the river in Bedminster and Southville, and up the hill in Totterdown and Montpelier, the typical rental is a Victorian terrace with a front room close to the pavement. For a class with a nude model, the back of the house is the better bet: a rear reception room or kitchen-diner that looks onto the garden instead of the street. If the front room is the only one big enough, close the blinds fully first, since the session can’t be visible to the public.
Back rooms usually get decent daylight too, which helps when you’re trying to work out where a shoulder goes. Sit people along the walls, hand each of them a book or tray to press on (the kit doesn’t include boards) and keep a bedroom free for the model.

The model travels throughout Bristol and its surroundings, which includes Filton, Bradley Stoke, Downend, Kingswood, Winterbourne, Long Ashton, Keynsham and Portishead.

What to do with the evening
With the favourite drawing picked and the photos taken, King Street, Wapping Wharf and the bars of Stokes Croft are a short taxi away. If the group wants to keep drawing, £50 extends the session by 30 minutes, so you get an hour with the pencils and an hour of butler service. The Bristol cocktail class or sip and paint can be booked alongside for a multi-activity discount.

Bristol is full of artists and none of us can draw. Does that matter?
No. There’s no tutor marking your work, the model leads the session himself and it’s meant for all abilities. He does pick a favourite drawing at the end, so somebody wins.
It’s Balloon Fiesta weekend in August. Will the traffic affect the class?
Roads on the Ashton Court side of the city get slow, so build in the spare hour we ask for after your planned finish. If he’s delayed, the session still runs its full length, whichever of the two you booked.
Our Totterdown terrace opens almost straight onto the pavement. Can we still book?
Yes, if you choose the room carefully. Use a back room, or shut the blinds at the front, because the venue has to be private and out of public view.
