Hen Party Cocktails: Cosmopolitan and Virgin Cosmo Recipes
3 May 2018
A Cosmopolitan is the perfect hen party cocktail: pink, zingy and easy to make for a group. Here are our two favourite recipes – a classic Cosmo and an alcohol-free Virgin Cosmopolitan, so non-drinkers can join the toast too.
Classic Cosmopolitan recipe

Serves one.
Ingredients
- 45ml lemon vodka (standard vodka works, but lemon makes it extra special)
- 15ml Cointreau
- 30ml cranberry juice
- 10ml lime juice
- Ice
- Orange peel, to garnish
Method
- Chill your glass in the freezer for 15 minutes, or fill it with ice and leave it for 5 minutes.
- Add the vodka, Cointreau, cranberry juice and lime juice to a cocktail shaker full of ice.
- Shake until the outside of the shaker feels ice cold.
- Strain into the chilled glass.
- Twist the orange peel over the drink to release its oils, then drop it in.
Virgin Cosmopolitan recipe (alcohol-free)

Not drinking? This alcohol-free Cosmo tastes just as good as the real thing, and there’s no hangover the next morning.

- 20ml fresh lemon juice

Making Cosmos for a group
- Multiply each recipe by the number of guests, then mix everything except the ice in a jug beforehand.
- Shake two servings at a time, so every drink stays cold.
- Make a jug of the virgin version too, so everyone can join in.
